Once you’ve moved all your stuff into your place and put all the moving boxes away, the next step is to think about decorating your space! Everyone has a different style, but we want to tell you about a few apartment-decorating rules that will help you make the most of your space.
In the post below, we’ll be talking about four things to keep in mind when you’re out shopping for new furniture and apartment decor. Without further ado, let’s get right to the post! Oh, and when you’re done reading it, please be sure to share the link to this page with your friends and neighbors at your community of Louisville, KY apartments.
Keep a light rug handy
A bright rug can do wonders for the look of your apartment. Whether it’s a solid color or a subtle pattern, a brightly colored rug can make your place look larger and more inviting. You’ll have to pay close attention to it so it doesn’t get dirty, but if you’re willing to clean it it you’ll reap the benefits of an inviting apartment.
Consider mirrors instead of art
If you’re like most people, one of the first things you’ll do upon moving into your new place is start thinking about art to hang on the wall. We would like to encourage you, however, to consider mirrors instead. Mirrors can be artsy if you go to the right stores, but that’s not why we like them. Mirrors help spread natural light around your apartment, and natural light makes any room seem more spacious. If you don’t want a bunch of mirrors hanging in your place, consider investing in metallic wall pieces instead. Any reflective surface will work!
Learn to love layers
When we say layers, we’re talking about layered blankets and throw pillows. The more of these you have, the more depth you’ll be able to create. Plus, your apartment will look warm, inviting, and put together as a result. If you liked buying affordable furniture instead of high-end pieces, blankets and pillows can help you make that furniture look beautiful.
