Think about how you feel when you walk into your apartments in Louisville, KY. Do you feel a sense of relief wash over you as you look at your clean, tidy apartment? Or, do you plop yourself down on the couch and wish you had a clean, tidy apartment? If you do the latter more often than you experience the former, this blog is for you.
Our latest blog is all about ways to keep your apartment organized no matter how hectic life gets. You don’t have to make drastic changes in order to keep your home organized — you just have to develop a few simple habits! Also, it doesn’t hurt to invest in more storage containers, but we’ll address that in the blog post below.
Check out the list of tips in this week’s post, and please be sure to share the link to this post with your friends and neighbors at your community of Louisville apartments!
Your storage should be two things; clear and vertical
Vertical storage means taking advantage of the vertical space in your apartment instead of taking up a bunch of floor space. In apartments, floor space is a lot more valuable than vertical space. That’s why we recommend buying shelves and dressers that are tall and narrow instead of short and vat.
In addition to being tall, your storage space should be see-through. Instead of buying colorful storage boxes that you can’t see through, invest in some clear storage boxes. It’s a lot easier to find what you need when you’re able to see through the storage boxes instead of having to take them down from the shelf and dig around.
Develop a nighttime routine of tidying up
You don’t have to do a deep clean every night, but you should declutter before you go to bed. Just do the little things like clearing off your coffee table, putting the dirty dishes in the dishwasher, and wiping down your counters. You’d be shocked by how much of a difference these things make! Plus, it’s always nice to wake up to a clean apartment.
Buy more baskets
Even the most organized people rely on a couple tricks to keep their apartment looking nice. One of those tricks involves baskets. Baskets look nice, and they can hide all the junk that you don’t know what to do with. When you’re clearing off your coffee table or dining room table at night, you can just scoop everything into one of your baskets and be done with it!
Make your bed every day
This might sound kind of dumb, but there are a lot of benefits to making your bed every morning. You’ll come home to a made bed, and you’ll start your day with a strong sense of accomplishment because you’ve already made your bed! Plus, hopping into a made bed at night feels way better than climbing into a messy one.
That’s all the organizing advice we’ve got for you this week, residents!
