Welcome to the first ever blog post from Echelon at Middletown — the Louisville, KY apartments that residents choose for upscale living in a convenient location. We decided to start a blog series so we could keep residents informed about all the benefits to living in luxury apartments in Middletown. From new restaurant openings to apartment living tips, this blog will cover everything you need to know to live your best life at Echelon at Middletown.
This week’s post is all about the best restaurants in the nearby neighborhoods. We’re lucky to live in a part of town that’s filled with awesome eateries, and the staff at Echelon at Middletown is happy to tell you all about them! Check out the list of restaurants below, and be sure to share this post with your friends and neighbors at your community of apartments in Louisville, KY.
This restaurant’s motto is, “Small Plates, Big Wines,” and that should be enough to get most of you to pay it a visit. Louvino is a classy, upscale establishment with a massive wine selection, beautifully ornate decor, and limited seating. We actually like the intimate feel of the place, but it does mean you have to get there early if you want to get a table. The food menu is filled with “southern-style small plates” that feature modern twists on down-home southern comfort food.
We’re big fans of Cuban food, and we think you will be too after trying the cuisine at Havana Rumba. If you go, start things off with an order of queso. Unlike most queso dishes, the dip at Havana Rumba comes with plantains instead of tortilla chips. It’s a genius idea, and works very well.
The ceviche is super good too, although it’s only available on Fridays and Saturdays. No matter what you order, be sure to add an empanada for only $1! The atmosphere is super friendly, and kids are more than welcome here too. You might even see a live drummer if you’re lucky!
It’s time for the NFL playoffs, and there’s no better place to watch the games than Blind Squirrel. This place has tons of seating, huge TVs and awesome appetizers and pizza. Most sports bars serve classic fried foods like wings and mozzarella sticks, but Blind Squirrel serves a more boutique variety of bar food.
Everyone on Yelp recommends the street corn, so we’ll echo that sentiment. You can get super unhealthy bar food like the Mountain Nachos, but you can also get something a little different like the pimento and bacon burger. Whatever you do, don’t leave Blind Squirrel without getting an order of pretzels and beer cheese!
If you want terrific BBQ, look no further than Mark’s Feed Store. All the meat is incredibly flavorful, but it’s the side dishes that really set Mark’s Feed Store apart from the other BBQ joints in Louisville. The potato salad is super rich and creamy, and the fried corn on the cob is well worth it. Mark’s Feed Store is a no-frills type of place, but we like it that way. We hope you do too!
With that, we’ve reached the end of our first blog post! Thanks for taking some time out of your busy schedule to read our blog, residents! We hope you enjoyed it, because we sure love keeping you informed about everything going on in Middletown and beyond.
